Founded in 2023, Umeme Sense is a women-led clean-tech startup redefining how renewable energy creates value. Our journey began with a simple question — how can solar power be made not just sustainable, but financially rewarding for the people who produce it?
What started as an idea among young engineers has evolved into a recognized innovation company (officially registered in Kenya) developing smart energy monitoring solutions that help producers track, verify, and monetize their clean power through the Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) market.
Rooted in African innovation, Umeme Sense was built to bridge the gap between clean energy and economic opportunity.
