Our Impact

We don't just build technology — we build sustainable futures. At Umeme Sense, our impact strategy focuses on using IoT-driven energy transparency to support education, enhance security, and mentor the next generation of STEM innovators. Through strategic partnerships, we turn energy data into community power.

Projects

  1. Students working on solar-powered energy systems at Naning'oi school

    The Naning'oi Naishorua Project

Umeme Sense is proud to be a formal technical partner for the Naning'oi Naishorua Project, a student-led initiative under the EPICS in IEEE program. This collaboration brings together the innovative energy of student engineers and the technical expertise of Umeme Sense to enhance security and energy sustainability for a critical educational institution.

  2. Umeme Sense IoT monitoring device installed on a solar energy system

    Our Technical Contribution

At the heart of this partnership is the deployment of the Umeme Sense IoT Monitoring System. We provide the project team with the infrastructure to monitor solar production and consumption patterns in real time, offer technical consultation on solar energy system design and High-Voltage PCB layouts, and lead training sessions on multi-channel consumption monitoring and renewable energy credits.

  3. Umeme Sense team mentoring female students in a STEM workshop

    STEM Mentorship & Impact

Beyond the hardware, we actively empower the girls at Naning'oi through direct mentorship — sharing our journey as tech entrepreneurs to inspire the next generation of female leaders in STEM — and through capacity building to ensure the local project team gains the skills to maintain and iterate on renewable energy solutions independently.

  4. Solar panels providing stable power to a boarding school security system

    Desired Outcomes

Enhanced security through a stable energy supply powering security systems at the boarding school. Long-term sustainability through a data-driven approach that reduces waste and ensures system health. And empowerment by bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world engineering impact.
