Umeme Sense Joins the IEEE PES Panel Discussion on Energy and Sustainability

At Umeme Sense, we are committed to being part of conversations that shape the future of sustainable energy in Africa.

We are proud to announce that our Co-founder & CEO, Mercy Sheila Otuko, will be joining the upcoming IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Kenya Chapter and IEEE PES Multimedia University Student Branch Chapter World Panel Discussion on Energy and Sustainability, a dialogue bringing together visionary leaders, innovators, and young professionals driving change in the energy landscape.

This discussion will explore critical themes shaping Kenya’s and Africa’s energy future, including:

  • Defining energy sustainability in the African context and envisioning the role of renewable energy (solar, wind, and geothermal) in powering communities by 2030 and beyond.
  • Leveraging technology and innovation, such as smart grids, IoT, and energy storage, to achieve reliable and efficient systems.
  • Policy and investment priorities needed to accelerate the transition to clean and affordable energy.
  • Empowering youth and students to become leaders in the evolving energy sector through innovation, skill development, and forward-thinking mindsets.

As Umeme Sense continues to pioneer intelligent energy monitoring and climate finance solutions through Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), we are excited to contribute our perspective on how innovation and inclusion can drive energy equity across Africa.

Stay tuned for insights, highlights, and key takeaways from this impactful conversation!
