Umeme Sense Wins Best Prototype at the 31st IEK International Convention 2024

We are proud to share that Umeme Sense was recognized with the Best Prototype Award at the 31st Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) International Convention; a landmark gathering of engineers, innovators, and industry leaders shaping Africa’s technological future.

Our co-founder, Mercy Sheila Otuko, had the honor of presenting Umeme Sense, a smart energy monitoring innovation designed to improve industrial energy efficiency while promoting access to affordable and sustainable energy. The prototype showcases how intelligent monitoring and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) can unlock financial sustainability and accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies across Africa.
